In our
course (Marketing Economy at the Esbjerg Business Academy), we have the
option of taking an internship during our 4th and final semester, in
order to get some practical work experience and a realistic view regarding
our thesis. This internship can be done abroad. Luckily for us, we have
had contact with Hydro Aluminium Precision Tubing (HAPT) throughout
our course, and we were given the possibility of doing a internship
for them in China starting January and ending May/June. The
products that HAPT are making are extruded and drawn tubes, primarily
for the automotive industry. These aluminium tubes are used in heat
exchangers such as radiators, airconditioners etc. HAPT also produce
tubes for fuel lines etc. HAPT have a rather large share of the world
market
in this area, so if you look under the hood of your car there is a big
chance you have some of HAPT's products in there.
Precision drawn aluminium tubing is a highly refined quality product
.The tubing is especially characterised by:
The primary
area of use is as mentioned various types of heat exchangers . For example
,radiators ,heater cores ,condensers and evaporators.
For confidential reasons we cannot go into what we exactly are going
to do in China, so dont ask :)
Where are
we going?
HAPT's unit in China is located in Wuxi only 128 km from Shanghai. The
following paragraph is taken from the Wuxi Tourist office website as
it explains what you want to hear about Wuxi
The
beauty of Lake Taihu lies in the beauty of water and Wuxi enjoys the
most parts of the lake.
Ancient Grand Canal is a long-standing moving gallery;Wuxi is the only
city that the Grand Canal cuts through. Wu Culture possesses thousands
of year's civilization.Wuxi is its cradle. Wuxi is located in the center
of Yangtze River Delta.Occupying an area of 4,650k?,it has a population
of 5.18 million. It's one of China's important economic cities as well
as one of the first approved national excellent tourism cities. Depending
on its attractive scenery, rich historical relics and developed modern
civilization,Wuxi, like a bright pearl of Lake Taihu,is renowned at home
and abroad as a famous tourist resort.
Sounds like a nice little town. Ofcourse we are there to work and make
our thesis, but I am sure we will also have time to look around in Wuxi
itself and also Shanghai. Since we are leaving late January we will
be in China for the Chinese new year which start February 1st and last
10 days. See.. they know how to celebrate the new year :) So we are
looking forward to it very much.. should be fun.

In
the Picture Gallery section we will upload alot of pictures from Wuxi,
Shanghai and whereever we will come during our stay in China.
